Nurse Theorist
Lucia Thornton has been involved in nursing, holistic healing and healthcare for over 35 years. She has worked in various clinical settings including emergency and trauma, intensive care, school nursing and research and development.
She helped develop one of the first inpatient hospice homes in the country and was instrumental in creating the process of Board Certification for Holistic Nursing in the United States. She established and directed The Visions in Healthcare Council and the Institute of Health and Well-Being to foster an awareness of health and healing in her community.
Lucia has taught undergraduate and graduate nursing students at California State University Fresno and throughout the country for the Certificate Program in Holistic Nursing. She currently serves on the faculty of the Energy Medicine University and is an associate editor for Bridges, the magazine for the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energy and Energy Medicine.
