Nursing from 1935 to 2003
Eileen Keenan and Lynette Juliet are two remarkable nurses who entered the profession in 1935, before antibiotics and recovery rooms were part of the medical landscape. Their vast experience, amounting to 114 years between them, provide us with a fascinating glimpse into the history of nursing. In this interview, Eileen and Lynette share stories about prevailing medical treatments in the 1930’s through the 1950’s, the rigors of nursing school 70 years ago, and how protocols have dramatically changed since they began their careers. Best of friends, they met doing the work they love and the work they celebrate with us in this delightful interview!
